be true

“For me, being TRUE means staying true to yourself and others. It’s stripping away all masks and facades. It’s carrying yourself in the most authentic form. It’s being honest and remaining unapologetically YOU. It’s living in total raw unfiltered expression of self and sharing your natural essence through art. It’s speaking your truth.” - T.R.U.E

Originally from the Bronx, NY Jasmine Lopez is a R&B/Soul singer-songwriter. She first began singing at the age of three. A student of the arts since junior high, she taught herself how to play piano at fourteen and began writing her own music. A woman of many talents she has performed in several stage plays, musicals, competed in spoken word competitions, co-starred in the film “She’s Worth Waiting For” and became the musical director for its musical counterpart thereafter.

In 2011 she moved to Tampa to pursue a bachelor’s degree in musical theater and upon completion found her way back to her roots, music! In 2015 she joined a local collaborative group and began showcasing her original music in the Tampa Bay Area at various venues. Driven by her passion she also joined a cover band of various genres and created collaboration works with several hip hop artists.

After an extended hiatus and her long awaited return she re-emerged as “T.R.U.E” with her release of Naked Truth in May of 2021. Thereafter she attended many open mics and joined another collective, booking gigs in St. Pete and Tampa as a featured artist and supporting musician. In May of 2022 she went fully independent and has not left the stage since.
